Digia @Web

Digia, former SysOpen Digia which is known for its 48-inch tall Symbian S60 phone, announced their web browser for Symbian UIQ platform - Digia @Web. The soon-to-be-released application is the first full finger touch web browser for UIQ platform and is based on the same core Nokia's S60 browser and Apple's Safari use - Webkit.

Commenting on the announcement, Digia's Director of Special Projects, Tuukka Turunen, said: "We chose webkit as the engine for our browser because it is fast and reliable, and allows web content to be seen in its true form. By combining the open-source webkit engine with our new and intuitive browser UI we have created the best and most powerful tool to surf the web with touch enabled UIQ phones."

Don't get me wrong, pre-installed Opera is a solid solution, but you still need a stylus from time to time to use it. Until Opera Mobile 9.5 is released (with hopefully more touch intuitive controls), I'll try using Digia @Web for a while. That's actually once the public beta is released sometime this month.
